by car: on the highway M-4 Don to Nalchik, then to Blue lake

by plain: a regular flight to Nalchik, then a transfer to the Blue lake

Attraction of Desnogorsk water-storage reservoir is a year-round water temperature in winter +14°, in summer +35°. It is an artificial pond - a pond-cooler of the Smolensk nuclear power plant has been completely filled after the overlap of the Desna river from 1979 to 1984, the area of 44 sq. km, depth up to 17 m. There is a great variety of fish in the pond : catfish, sturgeon, trout, carp, perch, crucian carp, roach, rudd and shrimp. Scenic coastline - birch, spruce, pine, almost everywhere is close to the water.

The water visibility up to 5 m.

How to get:

Desnogorsk Smolensk region is located 135 km from Smolensk, 160 km from Bryansk, but from Moscow have to travel 360 km on the highway A 101 Moscow-Bobruisk.

By car:Moscow-Obninsk-Maloyaroslavets-Medyn-Yukhnov-Novoalexandrovskiy-Ekimovichi, in the village centre turn to Desnogorsk (6km). To Obninsk from Moscow you can go through Podolsk, Troitsk or Aprelevka. It will take 5,5 hours.

By bus: 3 intercity buses in town travel from the Shchelkovo station: at 10-30;15-50; 20-15. It will take about 8-9 hours.
